Sean Gallagher
Chief Strategy Officer

Sean is a nationally recognized expert on strategy and innovation in higher education, with more than 15 years of experience as a consultant, manager, and administrator. Since joining Northeastern in 2009, Sean has built a central strategy function, unique among major U.S. universities, working across colleges and academic domains to catalyze and launch new programs and initiatives and enter new geographic markets.
 
Prior to Northeastern, Sean worked for nearly 10 years at the research/ consulting firm Eduventures, where he played an instrumental role in growing the company by launching and leading many of its research practices while advising top industry executives and investors. His first book, The Future of University Credentials: New Developments at the Intersection of Higher Education and Hiring, was published in 2016 by Harvard Education Press. Sean holds a Doctor of Education degree from Northeastern University, an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology, and a BS in Marketing from Northeastern.
